New technology

Not only will this new capability allow drivers and passengers to use all of their favorite applications while they’re in the new Mazda CX-9. Additionally, this new technology will also add more functionality on top of what is already provided by the MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment system. This includes more features for hands-free calling and messaging as well as voice-activated capability. Additionally, versions of the Mazda crossover SUV will be equipped with an 8.1-inch touchscreen, a pair of 2.1-amp USB ports for faster device charging and a vast array of active safety sensors.

Performance specifications

Future owners of 2019 Mazda CX-9 will have one powertrain option to consider when they are outfitting the new vehicle. All trims use the same basic powetrain, the turbocharged, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder SKYACTIV-G engine that will be attached to the six-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission. The amount of performance the new crossover SUV produces will depend on what kind of fuel an owner chooses. Using 93-octane gasoline will offer an output of 250 horsepower and 87-octane fuel will allow the engine to make up to 227 horsepower. When the 2019 Mazda CX-9 is properly equipped with that available towing hitch, the crossover SUV can pull up to 3,500 pounds. Front- and all-wheel-drive options are available.
